Cute summer top, but runs big

Love this top online and have been lusting after it since it came out, however I’m slightly disappointed now that I’ve received it (and it was final sale so returns and exchanges are not possible). It runs big, bigger than most tops I’ve tried that have similar smocking detail. With a top like this I expect it to be smocked tightly enough to hold me in without a bra, and this one just falls flat. The smocking seems to be more for show than any purpose, and I love smocking, but it needs to suck me in! Also, the print is more orangy in person than a true red gingham that I was expecting. Overall I like this piece a lot, but it could definitely be improved!

I love this top! Paired it with a tiered skirt and sandals. Looks good without a bra which is a summertime plus!!
