Founded in 2015 by Lisa Bühler, Lisa Says Gah exists to make getting dressed more joyful, more memorable, and unmistakably you.

We design pieces that feel like wearable art—playful, a little nostalgic, and full of personality. Inspired by color, community, and the magic in everyday moments, our collections are made to spark confidence, conversation, and a little bit of “Gah!” wherever you go.

So, what is “Gah” exactly? We like to think it can’t be bottled or contained. The opposite of “Ugh,” it’s an unbridled outburst-ing of surprise and delight — at an off-kilter ceramic vessel or a nubby cropped sweater or an all-womxn design collective, at a world where clothes are carefully curated, made for everyone, and here for the long haul.

When we launched the LSG Collection in 2017, it was a handful of pieces, a tiny factory around the corner, and deadstock fabric we could get our hands on.

It was small because we were small.

Made in California wasn’t just a strategy. It was just what was possible at the time.

As we’ve grown, so has how we make things.

We moved design and production to Los Angeles. Then we added sweaters, jackets, shoes. Categories our original factory couldn’t support.

We found partners in China, at a quality and price point that remained accessible.

For us, it’s about thoughtful production, and working with partners we know and trust. That hasn’t changed for us. It’s still a priority, and we’re continuing the work and getting clearer in how we share it.

What I’ve learned.

Building an independent brand in 2026 means living inside a contradiction.

There’s this idea that brands are either fast fashion or luxury. But most of us are somewhere in the middle, and it’s more nuanced than that.

It’s hard being in that in-between.

Not small, not huge. Still bootstrapped. Still building resources and working with what we’ve built.

We’re not fast fashion. We make runs for our demand, we sell through, we keep moving.

But we’re not luxury either. We don’t have the deep margins that support mega budgets or insulation from market fluctuations.

So the work becomes navigating that middle ground as best we can.

What we’re committing to.

We work with partners who are vetted and independently audited against global labor and safety standards.

We produce in smaller batches to avoid excess, prioritize recycled materials where possible (including packaging), and consider the impact of each step as we design and produce. It’s not perfect, but it’s work we’re committed to continuing and improving over time.

We’re working on being more open about how we design, make, and run the business.

We’ll be sharing an annual update starting this summer, and continuing each year around our anniversary.

Thank you for being here.

The best part of this has always been you.

The people who feel like themselves in our clothes.

Who stop each other on the street.

Who react to a print, an unexpected collab, a vibe. Who connect with each other in stores, at events, in the wild.

That’s the spirit of Lisa Says Gah. And it means everything to me.

I’m still in it every day. Independent by choice.

Growing in real time.

Still driven by the magic of what fashion can offer.

A little delight. A sense of identity. Escape. Connection. Expression.

I really love what we get to do here. And I’m so grateful you’re part of it.

Say Gah!
